THIS IS OUR CREED
BY REVEREND JON CHARTERS-REID*

We are a Christian-based community group, welcoming and inclusive of those of different and diverse faith traditions. We affirm the rights and freedoms guaranteed under the Human Rights Act 1998, including in particular Article 9 (Freedom of thought, conscience and religion), Article 10 (Freedom of expression), and Article 11 (Freedom of assembly and association).
In accordance with these rights, and with due respect to the pluralistic society in which we live, we state that our community does not accept, nor is it bound by, any requirement or policy that would compel the use of digital identification systems where such compulsion would conflict with sincerely held religious or ethical beliefs. Our faith tradition upholds human dignity, liberty of conscience, and equality before the law. We reject any form of segregation, exclusion, or discrimination arising from policies of government or public bodies - including those of the United Kingdom - where such policies would seek to deny participation in civic life on the basis of digital identity status or related criteria. We affirm that we are committed to peaceful engagement with society and government institutions, that we expect to be treated without prejudice and in equal standing with all citizens, and that we will continue to exercise our rights as guaranteed both under domestic law and under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), incorporated into UK law. This declaration does not constitute political opposition, but a clear statement of lawful and conscientious belief. In standing by these principles, we make clear that our community is guided by faith, mutual respect, and the inalienable rights and freedoms that belong to all people.
